From Challenges to Actionable Solutions: GovTech Lab’s First Working Session

On July 31, 2025, a working session was held at the CDTO Campus as part of the GovTech Lab Ukraine open innovation program, organized by GGTC Kyiv in partnership with CDTO Campus.

This session marked the program’s first practical step toward launching pilot projects designed to address real-world challenges faced by public institutions—through collaboration with startups and innovators.

The event brought together representatives from ministries, government agencies, and institutions, including Chief Digital Transformation Officers (CDTOs), directors of policy directorates, and heads of digital transformation and innovation departments from leading national authorities.

Throughout the group work, participants focused on four key objectives:

Identifying one clear, actionable challenge for each participating institution
Framing these challenges in a way that startups and innovators can readily understand and tackle
Receiving expert feedback and guidance on how to refine and strengthen the proposed challenges
Gaining insight into the next steps of the open call process for submitting challenges to the GovTech Lab

This collaborative approach — uniting the public sector, the startup ecosystem, and international partnersт— lays the groundwork for transforming systemic challenges into effective, scalable digital solutions that serve the public good.
